DESCRIPTION:What does a history major have in common with a startup founder? \nMore than you'd think! \n \nThursday\, August 27. 6:00–8:00pm\nBemis Great Hall · Free dinner\nOnly 40 seats left. RSVP now to claim yours:\n<a href="https://coloradocollege.joinhandshake.com/stu/events/1995702">https://coloradocollege.joinhandshake.com/stu/events/1995702</a>\n \nEntrepreneurship isn't really about business degrees or writing code... it's about noticing a problem\, connecting dots that other people don't see\, and having the creativity and persistence to build something better. \n \nThe broad base of knowledge and the many different lenses a liberal arts education gives you for seeing and understanding the world helps you spot those gaps\; artists\, historians\, scientists\, writers\, and activists make these kinds of connections all the time. Entrepreneurs channel those connections into innovative solutions and new ventures to deliver them to the public. By drawing on many fields at once\, a liberal arts education lays that groundwork: it helps cultivate the ability to understand problems more fully and to imagine innovative solutions\, across whatever paths you pursue.\n \nOn Thursday\, August 27\, you're invited to the Students + Founders Dinner: an evening with founders and CEOs from across our region who will talk honestly about their work\, their career paths\, and the messy\, winding parts they don't post on LinkedIn. Here's why it's worth two hours of your week. \n\n\nThe founders at your table build companies\, hire\, and mentor\, and they know the regional landscape you'll be stepping into. You'll hear how they actually got where they are (few of them by a straight line)\, pick up advice you can use now\, and start building the kinds of relationships that can open doors to internships\, opportunities\, and support during your time at CC and long after you graduate.\nYou'll also just have a good night. Every major is welcome\, and you don't need an idea\, a business background\, or a single person you know walking in. We seat you at a table matched to your interests\, alongside other CC students and peers from around the region\, so you'll always have people to talk to. \nNo pitching\, no pressure... just good food and honest conversation about how founders got started\, the ideas they chased\, the failures they learned from\, and how you might turn what you care about into something of your own. It's a low-key way to meet people and make a few new friends in the first week of the block.\n\n\n\n\nhttps://today.coloradocollege.edu/events/10076
