DESCRIPTION:Foundations of Zen\nThursdays BLock 7 in Shove Chapel\n4:00 PM.\n \nZen Practice\, Stripped Down for Starters -Take a Dive into Zen Meditation with Sarah Bender\, Roshi and Spiritual Life Advisor. Theory and Practice of taking time to get still and get curious. For more info\, contact Roshi Sarah at <a>sembender@gmail.com. Sponsored by the Chaplain's Office.</a>\n \nWhat is Zen? Zen is a path developed over millennia through both Buddhist and Taoist traditions\, centered in meditation\nand supported by study\, community\, ritual\, arts\, and service.\nIt's radically simple in its foundational practices. Really.  Not much to learn\, lots and lots to discover. And the very simple act of meditation is liberating from the start. \n\nAlso\, Zen has developed a radical means called koan practice\, in which you interact with ancestral teachers and with the stuff of your life in new and surprising ways.\n\nfor what?\nfor the beauty of being fully alive\, for one.\nAnd for that little problem that keeps coming up\, the one about who am I anyway and who shut me in this prison of miserable delusions.\n\nIt's sweet to find a way to freedom right inside the life and the you that you already have.\n\nSo this class will be an dive into Zen practice\, starting with meditation.\n \n\n \n\nhttps://today.coloradocollege.edu/events/4387
