DESCRIPTION:\nThe Colorado College Gamelan Ensemble and CC Balinese Dance class students will take the stage at Packard Hall beginning at 3 p.m. Sunday\, May 15. The performance\, under the direction of I Made Lasmawan and Ni Ketut Marni\, is free and open to the public.\n \nGamelan is a traditional Indonesian instrumental ensemble that is made up primarily of percussion instruments. Lasmawan\, a native of Bali\, is an internationally acclaimed master drummer who has been providing instruction in both traditional and contemporary Indonesian music at CC for nearly 30 years. Marni\, a renowned Balinese dancer and choreographer\, has been teaching at CC for more than 20 years and her students regularly perform along with the instrumental ensemble.\n \nThe CC Department of Music suggests\, but does not require\, that attendees wear a KN95 or similar filtration mask.
