In this talk\, we will explore approaches to expanding the usual integers in ways so that 2 loses its status as a prime number. We will find that our attempts have unintended consequences for other prime numbers. Exploring the strange properties of these newly created worlds will lead us to many fascinating topics in modern number theory.
