DESCRIPTION:\nJoin Film and Media Studies along with the Colorado College Cultural Attractions Fund in welcoming Dr. Candace Moore as she presents Empathetic Queerness and Television.\n\nCandace Moore is Assistant Professor of Cinema and Media Studies and Gender\, Women’s\, and Sexuality Studies at Carleton College\, where her work focuses on queer and transgender representations in film\, television\, and digital media. Candace's articles have appeared in Cinema Journal\, GLQ\, Feminist Media Histories\, and assorted anthologies\, including Production Studies: Cultural Studies of Media Industries\, Televising Queer Women\, and Sisters in the Life. Her newest article\, “Making Things Perfectly Sketch: Reflexive Queer and Trans Themes in Sketch Comedy” is forthcoming in the anthology Television in Queer Times.\n\nThis presentation is part of the 2022 Visiting Series in Film and Culture.\n\nhttps://today.coloradocollege.edu/events/5048
