DESCRIPTION:\n\nThe Colorado College Summer Music Festival concludes this year's <a href="https://www.coloradocollege.edu/other/summermusicfestival/concerts/2023-concerts.html">Intermezzo Season</a> by welcoming <a href="https://imaniwinds.com/">Imani Winds</a> to Packard Hall for a concert beginning at 7:30 p.m. Thursday\, May 11. The New York-based wind quintet formed in 1997 and has since released four CDs and earned two Grammy nominations while collaborating with numerous high-profile artists and touring across the world.\n\nThe program\, titled “De Memorias: A Latin Perspective” begins with Paquito D'Rivera’s La Fleur de Cayenne\, Tania León’s De Memorias\, and Trio for oboe\, clarinet and bassoon by Heitor Villa-Lobos. After intermission\, the ensemble returns to the stage with Pixinguinha’s Um a Zero\, arranged by former Imani Winds hornist Jeff Scott\, followed by Miguel del Águila’s Wind Quintet No. 2\, and concluding with movements from Suite de Piazzolla arranged by Scott and Imani Winds bassoonist Monica Ellis.\n\nTickets to hear Imani Winds at Colorado College are available to the public beginning March 1 online at <a href="https://www.coloradocollege.edu/other/summermusicfestival/index.html">www.coloradocollege.edu/musicfestival</a> or by calling 719-389-6552. Tickets are for general admission seating and cost $30 for adults and $5 for non-CC students.
