DESCRIPTION:Join us for Block 6 Faculty Lunch w/Marcia Dobson\, Professor of Classics\n\nMarch 15 Bemis Great Hall from 12:00-1:15pm\n\nTopic: This talk is about my just published book\, Metamorphoses of Psyche in Psychoanalysis and Ancient Greek Thought: From Mourning to Creativity \n\nLiminal and imaginal ways of perceiving our world are everywhere.  They exist in what we feel in the in-betweens of our daily lives – the places we rush through to get somewhere else in our busy schedules without noticing what lies in the transitions.  They announce themselves in sudden silences\, in riddles\, in extraordinary moments of vision or cognition beyond the possible or believable.  They especially live in the deep intersubjectivity between two people.  Contemporary psychoanalysis favors these moments in therapeutic relationships\, where there comes to be a trust and flow of experience that reveals a world of the “between”\, the “through” and the “surround” of the therapeutic couple --- that breaks through ordinary time to create profound interconnection\, (no matter how different we are)\, that connects us with nature and the sacred (however we define it)\, and has the power to transform us. This event is not open to the general public. https://www.coloradocollege.edu/newsevents/calendar/details.html?EventID=51237&amp\;booking=1SEQUENCE:0\n\nhttps://today.coloradocollege.edu/events/6073
