DESCRIPTION:The Colorado College Summer Music Festival presents a Faculty Artists Concert beginning at 7:30 p.m. Monday\, June 19 in Packard Hall. These concerts feature our professional musician Festival faculty performing a wide array of chamber music.\n\nThe June 19 concert opens with Bolcom’s Virtuosity Rag\, performed by Kevin Cobb\, trumpet\; Michael Thornton\, horn\; John Rojak\, bass trombone\; as well as Festival fellows to be selected. Next on the program is Schnitt’s Á Tour d’Anches\, with Robert Walters\, oboe\; Laura Ardan\, clarinet\; Michael Kroth\, bassoon\; John Novacek\, piano. The concert continues with Ginastera’s Impresiones de la Puna\, performed by Elizabeth Mann\, flute\; Stefan Hersh\, violin\; Steven Rose\, violin\; Virginia Barron\, viola\; Bion Tsang\, cello. Performing Schulhoff’s Five Pieces for string quartet is Andrew Wan\, violin\; Rose\; Toby Appel\, viola\; and Tsang. Returning to the stage to close the program will be Novacek\, Tsang\, and Appel\, along with Steven Copes\, violin\, and Susan Cahill\, bass\, performing the Vaughan Williams Piano Quintet in C minor.\n\nA pre-concert lecture presented by Michael Grace begins at 6:15 in Packard 9.\n\nSingle tickets for Festival Artists Concerts are $35 for the general public\, $30 for Festival donors\, and $5 for children and students. Season tickets to all five Festival Artists Concerts presented in June are $160 for the general public and $140 for donors. Season tickets to all seven Festival concerts (five Festival Artists and two Festival Orchestra) are the best value for music lovers at $200 for the general public\, $175 for donors\, and $150 for first-time ticket subscribers.
