DESCRIPTION:\nThe Colorado College Chamber Chorus presents its spring concert beginning at 7:30 p.m. Friday\, May 5 in Packard Hall under the direction of Deborah Jenkins Teske.\n\nThe ensemble will present the premiere of CC Assistant Professor Iddo Aharony’s Hidhud\, for chamber choir\, solo voice\, piano\, low strings\, percussion\, and electric guitar. The text\, also by Aharony\, is based on the Hebrew words "hidhud" (reverberation) and "d’ma’ma" (silence). Aharony says\, “When I wrote this piece\, I hoped for it to live in the liminal spaces between reverberation and silence. Between what was and what is\, between what’s lost and what’s found.” \n\nThe program will also feature music for choir and 4-hand piano\, including Johannes Brahms' Liebeslieder Walzes and selected songs by American composer William Averitt.\n\nAdmission is free and open to the public.
