DESCRIPTION:Join us for an upcoming session with Dr. Shahd Abusalama as we discuss the 75th anniversary of the Nakba and its ongoing impact on Palestinians. We'll explore the significance of activism and effective strategies for addressing challenges faced by advocates in the West. Engage in this conversation with an accomplished academic\, artist\, and activist! \n\nDr. Shahd is a Palestinian academic from Jabalia Refugee Camp in Gaza\, currently based in the UK. She recently earned a Ph.D. from Sheffield Hallam University studying the representation of Gaza and its refugees in documentaries from 1917-1993. She is also an artist\, activist\, and author of the book "Palestine from My Eyes". Abusalama co-founded the Hawiyya Dance Company to showcase Palestinian Dabke and music and support anticolonial and antiracist causes\n\nhttps://today.coloradocollege.edu/events/6577
