DESCRIPTION:\nWould you like to spend Fall 2024 or Spring 2025 semester in New Zealand with the CC-approved partner program Frontiers Abroad\, studying Geology or Earth &amp\; Environmental Sciences? Join this November 8th Zoom info session webinar\, put on by the program in NZ\, to learn more!\n\nThe New Zealand Earth Systems Semester is an environmental science programme that combines environmental sciences\, geosciences\, hydrology and ecology to analyse current environmental issues. Start your semester with a one-month field camp exploring the North Island and South Island\, including modules on geology\, ecology\, natural hazards and indigenous knowledge. This programme is designed for U.S. university students interested in environmental science or studies\, geoscience\, ecology or environmental chemistry. It is open to all science majors.\n\nThe Geology of New Zealand Semester combines a traditional geology field camp experience for your first month\, followed by a campus semester at the University of Canterbury. Field camp includes a series of interlinked modules that explore the stratigraphy\, tectonics and geomorphology of the South Island\, and the volcanology and geothermal geology of the North Island. This programme is designed for U.S. university students studying geology\, geoscience\, hydrology and environmental science\, and is not open to students in other majors.\n\nOne other unique feature of Frontiers Abroad that is appealing to CC students is that they continue to strengthen their relationship with Te Hapū o Ngāti Wheke\, a local Iwi (tribe) in Banks Peninsula. The majority of their student research projects are now on their land and in partnership with various non-profit organizations working together to restore the Mauri (lifeforce) to their tribal land. \n\nBookmark the URL for the webinar\, and join us on November 8 to learn more!
