DESCRIPTION:On behalf of the HIP Team (Ryan Bañagale\, Andrea Bruder\, Dustin Fife\, Marion Hourdequin\, Molly Moran\, Megan Nicklaus\, and Amanda Udis-Kessler)\n \nPlease see below a reminder about the focus group on high-impact practices and advising next Tuesday\, 11/28\, 4-5pm at Cossitt Faculty Lounge. During past focus groups and at the block 3 chairs and directors meeting\, we started designing pathways that we aim to make available in Stellic as an advising resource for advisors and advisees. We would like to have as many departments and programs represented as possible and hope you can join us for an upcoming session. If you are unable to join\, we invite you to share your ideas with us via this short survey. Thank you! \n \nDear colleagues\,\n \nWe invite you to join one of six focus groups that will bring together faculty and staff in blocks 3 and 4 to create materials for advising that will help make legible to students the high-impact experiences available at CC. You don’t have to be an advisor\, all faculty and staff are welcome to join.\n \nIn the summer\, a team of six faculty and staff members attended the AAC&amp\;U Institute on High-Impact Practices (HIPs) and Student Success. We shared what we learned at the Faculty Forum and the Chairs and Directors Retreat in August\, and you helped us understand the large extent to which you are engaging high-impact practices in and outside of the classrooms\, in curricular and co-curricular spaces. We also heard from you the desire to help students navigate the CC HIP archipelago better and empower students to make their own decisions about their academic goals.\n \nThe focus groups are an opportunity for you to share your experience\, expertise\, and ideas on how to make legible to students what experiences are available and ways to connect HIPs to create stepping-stones for students. Ultimately\, our goal is to create resources for faculty and staff advisors and advisees.\n \nThe focus groups will meet in the Cossitt Faculty lounge. We included different dates and times to accommodate a range of schedules. We’ll also be in touch with a survey for those who can’t attend and wish to share their ideas.\n\nB4W1 Tuesday 11/28\, 4-5pm\nB4W2 Monday 12/4\, 2-3pm\nB4W3 Wednesday 12/13\, 3:30-4:30pm\n \nNo RSVP needed.\n\nPast meetings:\nChairs and Directors retreat (Chairs and directors mapped HIPs onto the departments’/programs’ majors/minors)\nFaculty Forum (Two sessions on HIPs\, facilitated by Molly Moran and Megan Nicklaus)\nB3W1 Thursday 10/26\, 2-3pm (Generated ideas for pathways\, worked on pathway design)\nB3W2 Monday 10/30\, 1-2pm (Generated ideas for pathways\, worked on pathway design)\nChairs and Directors Meeting\, 10/30 (Generated ideas for pathways\, worked on pathway design)\nB3W3 Friday 11/10\, 3-4pm\n\nhttps://today.coloradocollege.edu/events/7337
