DESCRIPTION:Unbound: Harm Reduction is the inaugural event for the Unbound dialogue series hosted by Tutt Library where campus community can engage in good faith inquiry and conversation around shared topics of interest. The event will feature presentations from the Colorado College Substance Use and Harm Reduction Club and Love Alive\, a local nonprofit run by the administrators of a syringe access program in Colorado Springs (Access Point).\n \nMore about the featured organizations:\n \nCC Substance Use and Harm Reduction Club is a student organization working in collaboration with the nonprofit Love Alive\, which was created in response to increasing drug-related overdose deaths in El Paso County. Its mission is to educate students and the community on the principles of substance use harm reduction and overdose prevention and provide resources to houseless community members to reduce overdose deaths. Members work alongside Love Alive to create and distribute outreach kits to unhoused people. In addition to these activities\, members create and distribute educational materials pertaining to harm reduction and overdose prevention to the CC campus and beyond.\n \nLove Alive is a community-based initiative rooted in community support\, harm reduction\, and the belief that all people deserve to live happy\, healthy\, and autonomous lives.\n \nLove Alive has the following goals and objectives:\n\n\nDistribute free Narcan and fentanyl strips to anyone in the community who needs them\nProvide free community education for folks who want to learn about harm reduction\nConduct overdose prevention and Narcan trainings with small businesses\, service organizations\, and providers in Colorado Springs\nActively work to reduce stigma and destroy existing stereotypes about people who use drugs\n\n\nhttps://today.coloradocollege.edu/events/7844
