BEGIN:VCALENDAR VERSION:2.0 PRODID:ics.py - http://git.io/lLljaA BEGIN:VEVENT DESCRIPTION:\nCome learn more about the CC Russian in Bishkek program in Kyrgyzstan for Blocks 7&\;8\, 2025\, and hear from program faculty and staff as well as from recent CC alums of this program about their experiences! \n\nCOURSES: Students on the CC Russian Abroad program in Bishkek will take RU256/HY200: Russian History in Russian Literature II (taught in English) in Block 7\, followed by either RU102: Elementary Russian II or RU201: Intermediate Russian in Block 8. The prerequisite for this program is RU101\, which is offered this upcoming Block 4 at CC. The first course fulfills the all-college AIM requirement (Analysis and Interpretation of Meaning) or the HP requirement (Historical Perpectives). The second course counts towards the CE-L: Critical Engagement through Language requirement.\n\nIn addition to living with Russian-speaking host families and studying at the American University of Central Asia\, the program also includes a rich and diverse cultural experience: Guided tours of Bishkek (state museums of fine arts and history\, concert halls\, churches\, mosques\, and bazaars)\, trips to Ala-Archa Canyon and National Park\, Ala-Too mountain range\, and the pearl of Central Asia: the lake Issyk-Köl\, one of the largest mountain lakes in the world. Students try their hand at felting and cooking traditional dishes.
