DESCRIPTION:This Educator Learning Community will focus on teaching with objects across disciplines. We define “objects” broadly –including artworks and items in museum collections\; works from visual and popular culture\; material culture\; infographics\, charts\, graphs\, diagrams\, etc. In thinking about effective teaching methods with objects\, we will address challenges\, develop techniques\, and identify various strategies. We also aim to explore pedagogies\, projects\, and scenarios that will help us push boundaries and develop new approaches in this area.\n \nThe ELC is for anyone interested in this pedagogical zone\, regardless of preparation or prior experience. Led by Jessica Hunter (Associate Director of the Crown Center for Teaching) and Rebecca Tucker (Professor of Art History)\, the ELC will work closely with Blair Huff (FAC Academic Engagement Manager) and other staff at the FAC\, as well as with other practitioners and spaces on campus.\n \nThe ELC will meet on the second Monday of each block in the Agents of Care exhibition at the Fine Arts Center from 3:00 – 4:00 PM.\n \nFor more information\, please email Jessica Hunter <a href="mailto:jhunter@coloradocollege.edu">jhunter@coloradocollege.edu</a>\n\nhttps://today.coloradocollege.edu/events/8246
