DESCRIPTION:\n\nJoin us for the second event in this year's Anthropological Speaker Series. Lunch will be provided! \n\nTalk description:\nFollowing María Eugenia Cotera’s exploration of early women native ethnographers’ use of realist poetics as a “vehicle of decolonization\,” this talk examines decolonizing theory found in the works of three Indigenous hip hop groups on the U.S.-Mexico border. Drawing from close poetic analysis of these works\, interviews with the artists\, and collaborative fieldwork with Indigenous activists on the U.S.-Mexico border\, Christina Leza explores how Indigenous decolonizing theories positioned in the margins of academia could be centered in anthropological methodologies.\n\nhttps://today.coloradocollege.edu/events/9238
