DESCRIPTION:An Evening with Jon Waterman\n\nPikes Peak Climate Education\nAn Evening with Jon Waterman\nJoin Pikes Peak Climate Education for an evening with author\, photographer\, outdoorsman and naturalist Jon Waterman!\nJon Waterman will share powerful stories and photography from his travels in the Canadian and Alaskan Arctic. His firsthand observations reveal the profound changes unfolding in the Arctic – and why they matter here in Colorado\, where worsening wildfires and air quality impacts are increasingly connected to climate shifts far to our north. \nFrom an article from 5280 Magazine on his most recent book\, : "From melting permafrost and disappearing sea ice to dwindling herds of caribou and the 'greening of the Arctic\,' Waterman has compiled an intimately raw and richly detailed account of the changes he observed over 40 years of traversing the wildlands above the Arctic Circle. Drawing on scrupulous journal entries\, photographic evidence\, and skilled science journalism\, he paints an almost lyrical portrait of loss and climate chaos in some of our continent's last wild spaces.”\nThis is a climate conversation event\, free and open to the public\, at 7:00pm on Mar. 24 at Armstrong Hall on the campus of Colorado College organized by Pikes Peak Climate Education with support from other key sponsors like 350 Colorado. Doors open at 6:30pm.\n\nQuestions? Contact John Schoch at <a href="mailto:coclimadvocate@yahoo.com">coclimadvocate@yahoo.com</a>.\nNote: You will receive a tax-deductible email receipt from 350 Colorado\, the fiscal sponsor of the event.\n\nhttps://today.coloradocollege.edu/events/9783
